On Monday morning, the first phase of the Mosul offensive has launched from the Khazir frontline. Four thousand Peshmerga participated on three fronts. The Peshmerga ended the day successfully, completing their goal of clearing nine villages from ISIS.

Masoud Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Region, in a press conference in Khazir announced the successful completion of the first phase, saying “We have liberated 200 square kilometers so far.”
