Rise Foundation is a small, flexible NGO registered in Iraqi Kurdistan (registration number 792-2013). Rise provides targeted support to the most vulnerable and recreational projects for the refugee and internally displaced populations. Rise Foundation is a non-religious, non-political organisation, seeking to support those most in need — without bias.
Established in response to the Syrian conflict and the resulting influx of refugees to Iraq, Rise Foundation has built upon its ability to be innovative and flexible throughout the developing nature of the humanitarian issues unfolding in the region.
Through coordination and partnership with other organisations, as well as continuous needs assessments, we ensure that our efforts are as effective as possible.
Rise Foundation’s Winter Campaign
In the wake of the Islamic State the number of orphans and female headed households in Iraq has increased dramatically. Many of these orphans live with relatives or other members of their community who are also displaced and face their own significant hardships – winter is on their doorsteps.
The Rise Foundation – Winter Campaign has identified hundreds of cases of vulnerable orphans and female headed households in need of critical winter support. These are groups and individuals that receive little or no aid from other organisations and are taking shelter in rudimentary conditions, often in remote areas.
Rise Foundation, in partnership with CNSF and the Kurdish Aid Foundation, will provide targeted assistance to our beneficiaries, tailored to their specific needs – from winter clothing and blankets to hygiene kits and food assistance.
